Clay Fisher attends Cotton Pickin' 100 weekend at Magnolia
Clay Fisher returned to the driver’s seat of his Moon’s Towing & Recovery No. 99 Late Model on Friday evening at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) for the Cotton Pickin’ 100 weekend.
Drawing a stout field of 46 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) entries, Fisher secured his spot into Friday’s preliminary feature with an eighth-to-fourth charge in his heat race. Chasing a $4,000 payday, Clay was an early retiree on lap 26.
On Saturday, Clay followed up the 14th-fastest qualifying effort with a seventh-place finish in his heat, relegating him into a consolation race. Needing to place third or better to make the $12,000-to-win Cotton Pickin’ 100 finale, Fisher fell short with a seventh-place outing.
