Fisher rolls to top-five finish in Fall Classic prelim at Whynot
Taking part in the 29th annual Coors Light Fall Classic weekend, Clay Fisher traveled to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Miss.) on Friday afternoon for a pair of prelims on Friday leading up to Saturday’s main event.
With the massive 48-car field divided into two groups, Clay’s fifth-place finish in his heat race positioned him on the seventh row for his preliminary feature. Chasing a $5,000 payday, Fisher stormed through the field eight spots in the 30-lapper to register a fifth-place finish. He followed Clay Harris, Chad Thrash, Garrett Alberson, and Cody Overton across the line.
His weekend drew to an early close in Saturday’s Coors Light Fall Classic finale after getting caught in a multi-car tangle. Locking his spot into the $15,000-to-win A-Main with a runner-up heat finish, Fisher was one of five cars eliminated in the lap 12 pileup.
